Customer Service/ HR Apprentice

As a Customer Service & HR Apprentice, you will work closely with reception and HR teams, supporting internal staff, visitors, and customers while developing valuable workplace skills. Based in a busy office environment in Cambridgeshire, this permanent Customer Service & HR Apprentice position supports an apprenticeship pathway with opportunities for future progression within HR. The Customer Service & HR Apprentice role is well suited to someone keen to learn, grow, and build a long-term career.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Support reception duties including answering calls, greeting visitors, and managing sign-in processes.
  • Assist with preparation and management of sample packs, letters, and stock rotation.
  • Provide administrative support for HR activities including absence, holidays, payroll paperwork, and reporting.
  • Help organise interviews, meetings, training sessions, and internal events.
  • Support exhibitions, career fairs, roadshows, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Assist with website enquiries and system data entry when required.
  • Maintain tidy working areas including shredding, filing, and end-of-day office checks.
  • Provide general support to HR and the wider business as needed.

Skills/Experience:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
  • Strong interest in customer service and a desire to progress through an apprenticeship.
  • Confident telephone manner and professional communication skills.
  • IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office, email, and internet systems.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy office environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Right to work in the UK; driving licence and own transport desirable due to location.

Salary & Working Hours:

  • Salary: Apprenticeship salary, dependent on experience.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (one day per week finishing at 16:30).
  • Contract: Permanent apprenticeship role.
  • Location: Office-based in Cambridgeshire.
