CNC Setter Operator
£16.00 per hour plus overtime rates
Our manufacturing client based in Huntingdon are looking to grow their CNC team and have a brand-new opportunity for a CNC Setter Operator.
Key Responsibilities for the CNC Setter Operator:
- Set up, operate, and monitor multiple machines/processes, including 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines, Laser Cutters, and Press Brakes.
- Machine components to precise tolerances and quality standards, maintaining zero defects
- Carry out first-off and periodic inspections of own work and, as required, others’ work
- Use precision measuring instruments and gauging devices for dimensional verification
- Access and manage machining programmes from the storage system
- Select, install, and verify appropriate tooling for all operations
- Adhere strictly to health and safety requirements
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot process issues.
- Identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements
Skills & Experience required for the CNC Setter Operator:
- Minimum five years’ experience in a machining or workshop environment.
- Certification in a relevant discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Skilled in working with both metals and other materials.
- Competent in using precision measuring equipment and gauges.
- Experience with multiple machine types, including CNC, Laser Cutter, and Press Brake.
- Able to work independently while being an effective team member
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible to work overtime as needed
- Maintains performance under pressure
