The role

We are recruiting a CNC Machinist on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist who takes pride in producing outstanding quality work and thrives in a fast-moving production environment.

You will be responsible for the programming, setting, and operation of CNC machines, working to tight specifications and ensuring all production requirements are met to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role would suit someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and looking to commit to a long-term position with a business that values skill and reliability.


Main responsibilities

  • Programme, set, and run CNC machines to produce components to specification
  • Work to all production paperwork and processes accurately and in a timely manner
  • Carry out quality control checks throughout the production run, marking any machining errors clearly for downstream teams
  • Check all product components are correct before and during operation
  • Prepare and sort materials prior to machining, including cutting, sanding, and priming replacement materials as required
  • Maximise machine uptime and minimise set-up times throughout your shift
  • Maintain the saw dust extraction system and change dust bags as required
  • Keep your working area clean, tidy, and safe at all times
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and raise any concerns with your team leader immediately

Skills/experience

  • Minimum two to three years of experience operating five and three axis CNC machines working with wood (Essential)
  • Skilled in the programming and operation of Morbidelli and Alfa CNC machines (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in the manufacture of timber door sets (preferable)
  • Forklift licence (advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good time management and a calm, level-headed approach under pressure
  • Target-oriented with a team-focused attitude
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekend working when required

Hourly rate & working hours

  • Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (No shifts)
