The Role: Welder/Fabricator
Are you a skilled Welder/Fabricator looking for a hands-on role with a respected engineering manufacturer? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established UK business. You’ll be working on a wide range of bespoke equipment, ensuring every project is completed to the highest engineering standards.
This permanent position offers variety, craftsmanship, and the opportunity to work with a supportive and experienced fabrication team.
Main Responsibilities (Welder/Fabricator):
• TIG welding of stainless steel between 1mm–12mm thickness, including pipework/purge
• Fabrication and assembly from engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Working with fabrication and sheet-metal machinery, understanding tolerances and bend allowances
• Supporting build activities within production and occasional site-based work
• Maintaining high standards in quality, safety, and workmanship
• Working collaboratively alongside production, inspection, and engineering teams
Skills & Experience (Welder/Fabricator):
• Strong experience in TIG welding and stainless-steel fabrications
• Ability to read engineering drawings accurately
• Knowledge of tolerance control and fabrication practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Quality-driven with pride in delivering a high standard of build
Desirable:
• City & Guilds / recognised apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication
Hourly Rate & Working Hours (Welder/Fabricator):
• Competitive pay — dependent on experience
• 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Shift pattern:
• Mon: 7:30am–1:00pm / 1:30pm–4:00pm
• Tue: 7:30am–1:00pm / 1:30pm–4:30pm
• Wed–Thu: 7:30am–1:00pm / 1:30pm–5:00pm
• Fri: 7:30am–12:00pm (overtime available)
• Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday–Friday and Saturday mornings
