£35,000 to £45,000 negotiable plus benefits


St Neots based Electronics company are looking for a permanent experienced Production Engineer to ensure all products can be manufactured in a quality assured; reliable; scaleable; and repeatable manner, removing process variability and risk. Prepare production routings / procedures and documentation to enable operator based assembly of complex PCB and complete product assemblies.

Duties for the Production Engineer:

  • Receive and process all incoming technical specifications and data issued from Customers in accordance with company procedures.
  • Carry out technical assessment of new enquiries.
  • Carry out technical review as part of the commercial requirement for a contract review on all new orders.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing packs and documentation covering all aspects for the product assembly.
  • Receive and process all engineering change note requests.
  • Take a proactive approach to 'in-process' Continuous Improvement activities across PCBA and Product assembly areas
  • Support management team with analysis of manufacturing defects / process failures to determine root cause.
  • Attend NPI and design reviews; provide product / manufacture development recommendations for new, existing and emerging products and technologies.
  • Conduct PFMEA reviews with respect to new / existing products, manufacture and technology deployment.
  • Ensure that assembly jigs, fixtures and tooling are specified, designed, verified and commissioned and maintained.
  • Maintain data on ERP system

Skills required for The Production Engineer:

  • Have knowledge of developing and introducing new manufacturing solutions and processes and products.
  • Carry out a critical review of assembly processes for existing products making recommendations for and implementation of process improvements.
  • Support Sales/Purchasing functions to develop a technical relationship with key customers ensuring customers technical requirements are understood and achieved.
     

Hours of work for The Production Engineer:

  • Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.45pm Friday 8am to 1pm
