Production Administrator

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food production business in Cambridgeshire for an organised and detail-focused Production Administrator to join their busy site operation.

This is a varied and important role sitting at the heart of the production function, keeping documentation, labour coordination and stock administration running smoothly behind the scenes. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, take pride in accuracy and enjoy being the person everyone relies on to keep things on track, this could be a great fit.

As Production Administrator, you will support the daily production operation through effective planning, coordination and administrative management. You will act as a key link between production, planning, agency labour providers and other site functions, ensuring teams have the information and documentation they need to run efficiently and safely.

Main Duties

Prepare and issue all line production documentation, including labels, orders and shift paperwork, accurately and on time so that production teams are ready to start and complete each shift without delay.

Receive and process daily orders, keep the customer order board updated and communicate any changes to Area Leaders without delay.

Co-ordinate agency labour requirements, managing bookings, changes and confirmations clearly and on time so that staffing levels remain consistent.

Record and maintain agency hours in the internal tracker, ensuring information is accurate and submitted before agreed payroll cut-offs.

Support stock administration by maintaining accurate records for raw materials, packaging and production usage, providing planning and supply chain teams with reliable information.

Oversee all print room activities, including label creation, document preparation and order pack production, ensuring outputs are correct and delivered within agreed timelines.

Record and distribute relevant harvest and production information to external labour providers accurately and on time.

Support continuous improvement of production administrative and planning processes, identifying recurring issues and contributing to improvements in accuracy, efficiency and workflow.

Promote a food safety culture and ensure full compliance with health and safety standards across the site at all times.

Skills and experience

Previous experience in a similar administrative role within an FMCG environment is essential.

You will have strong organisational skills, a high level of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Competent use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required, along with good communication skills across a diverse, multi-national workforce.

Experience coordinating agency labour or working with external labour providers would be an advantage, as would a working knowledge of production workflows or stock control processes.

You must have the right to work in the UK.
