Machine Minder

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food production business in Cambridgeshire for an experienced Machine Minder to join their busy manufacturing operation.

As a Machine Minder, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of designated production machinery, supporting smooth production flow in line with company procedures and daily targets.

Main Duties

Operate and monitor designated production machinery to ensure products are manufactured to the required quality, safely and on time.

Carry out machine start-up checks, paperwork and basic set-ups prior to production commencing, ensuring machinery is safe, compliant and correctly configured before use.

Monitor machine performance throughout production and promptly report any faults, stoppages or quality concerns to the Area Leader.

Perform basic machine adjustments where trained and authorised, to minimise downtime and maintain line efficiency.

Ensure rejected products are identified, segregated and managed correctly in line with company procedures.

Complete all required machine and production documentation accurately and on time.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with food safety and health and safety standards.

Support continuous improvement by identifying and reporting opportunities to improve machine performance and reduce downtime.

Provide general production line support as required.

Skills and experience

Previous experience as a machine minder or machine operator within an FMCG environment is essential.

You will have a solid understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices, be mechanically minded with good problem-solving ability, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Excellent spoken and written English is required.

Experience within fresh produce and a knowledge of CI or Lean tools would be an advantage.

You must have the right to work in the UK.

Salary and working hours

£13.71 per hour

Monday to Friday

7.00am to 3.00pm

alternate Saturdays

7.00am to 12.00pm
