Onboarding Assistant (9month FTC)

We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Onboarding Assistant to support the delivery of a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for new employees. This role is key in ensuring all pre-employment processes are completed efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard, helping create a positive first impression for new starters joining the organisation.

This is a 9-month fixed-term contract, working 37 hours per week, with a hybrid working model based between Lincoln and Huntingdon, including occasional travel. You’ll be joining a collaborative People and Payroll team, playing an important role in supporting employee lifecycle processes during a busy period.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Produce and issue contracts of employment, offer letters and secondment documentation
  • Administer pre-employment checks in line with compliance requirements
  • Support onboarding processes to ensure a seamless experience for new starters
  • Respond to employee and candidate queries via email, phone and ticketing systems
  • Maintain accurate data across HR systems, including data transfer and updates
  • Support managers and employees with HR system administration (e.g. Workday)
  • Assist with updates to contracts, policies and ways of working
  • Provide administrative support across the People and Payroll team
  • Support job evaluation processes and documentation updates

Skills / Experience:

  • Previous experience in an HR, People or administrative support role
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet service level agreements
  • Experience using HR systems (Workday desirable)
  • Good standard of English and Maths

Salary & Working Hours:

  • £22,500 (£30,000 per annum Full Time Equivalent) 
  • Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid working with a mix of office (Lincoln / Huntingdon) and home working
  • Occasional travel may be required
