HR Assistant (Part Time)

We're recruiting a part-time HR Assistant on behalf of a growing business based in St Neots. This is a permanent, part-time position working 24 hours per week across four days — ideal for an HR professional looking for a role that offers real variety, genuine responsibility and a healthy work-life balance.

This is a hands-on, generalist HR role supporting the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding new starters through to managing leaver processes, maintaining documentation and providing first-line support to managers on day-to-day HR matters. If you're CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards it), have a practical approach to HR and enjoy being the person colleagues can rely on to get things right, this could be a great fit.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Drafting employment contracts, offer letters and contractual amendments
  • Maintaining accurate, compliant and up-to-date employee records and documentation
  • Supporting the review and refresh of HR policies in line with current employment legislation
  • Managing the end-to-end onboarding process, including right to work checks and induction coordination
  • Handling offboarding processes including leaver documentation, resignation acknowledgements and exit interview support
  • Providing first-line HR advice to managers on everyday queries including absence and conduct matters
  • Supporting employee relations casework through note-taking, documentation and preparation of letters and meeting packs
  • Maintaining HR systems, trackers and supporting basic data analysis and reporting
  • Acting as a reliable point of contact for HR queries across the business

Skills/Experience:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification, or actively working towards it — essential
  • Previous experience in an HR assistant or HR administrator role
  • Sound understanding of UK employment law fundamentals
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident, approachable communicator with a practical, common-sense approach
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Experience in an SME or varied, fast-paced environment — desirable
  • Exposure to employee relations processes — desirable
  • Experience using HR systems or platforms — desirable

Salary & Working Hours:

Salary is competitive and dependent on experience. This is a part-time, permanent position working 24 hours per week across four days. Based in St Neots.
