Logistics Team Leader
£30,000 - £35,000 plus benefits package
Our client based in Royston are looking for a Logistics Team Leader to lead the Stores/Despatch areas to maximise productivity and sales without compromising quality. To ensure compliance with all import/export transactions and ensure on time delivery (OTD) and OTL is supported at the Stores function. To also support the teams accuracy regarding inventory movements both in and out. Additionally to support and lead direct reports.
Key Responsibilities for the Logistics Team Leader:
• Manage the movement of all inventory through Goods In and Despatch.
• Maintain and control logistics documentation.
• Manage import/export of goods and materials.
• Obtain, check, and reconcile all export paperwork.
• Control and manage the business’ despatch expectations.
• Encourage a ‘can do’ attitude to resolving problems and implementing solutions within the whole team.
• Improve stock-turns and general inventory management, in-line with agreed targets.
• Ensure the company's Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery targets are met.
• Maintain the safety improvement plans for area of responsibility.
• Ensure the correct use of equipment in the work area, all operators to follow SOP’s.
• Ensure accurate recording of data and up to date team boards.
• Ensure periodic checks & routine maintenance is carried out on equipment within the work area.
• To support the companies continuous improvement programme.
Key Requirements for the Logistics Team Leader:
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Outstanding communication with good interpersonal skills at all levels.
• High attention to detail.
• Ensure high quality customer service levels.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Understanding of import/export regulations, with an expectation to complete appropriate training.
• Forklift truck licence desirable, but can be trained.
• Must have a flexible approach to satisfy the business need.
Hours of work for the Logistics Team Leader:
Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.15pm Friday 8am to 3pm
