The role

We are recruiting multiple Assembly Technicians on behalf of a business based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. We have one permanent position and two fixed term contract roles available — all offering the same responsibilities and remuneration.

This is a hands-on, precision-focused role within a regulated manufacturing environment, contributing to the assembly and testing of advanced, state-of-the-art technology that is genuinely making a difference in healthcare. You will work from controlled work instructions and SOPs, carrying out fine electromechanical assembly, testing, and commissioning to the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Main responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, and commission integrated electromechanical assemblies using pre-defined instructions
  • Carry out precision assembly of small electromechanical components including fasteners, connectors, and fine sub-assemblies to defined torque and quality standards
  • Record test results and build issues accurately and maintain manufacturing records and travellers
  • Identify and escalate non-conformances and deviations as required
  • Work in accordance with controlled work instructions, SOPs, and quality system requirements
  • Carry out basic fault finding using defined test procedures
  • Support engineers with structured root cause investigations

Skills/experience

  • Proven experience carrying out fine manual assembly work requiring steady hands, good hand-eye coordination, and sustained concentration
  • Cable assembly skills including use of crimp tools, wire cutters, and associated hand tools
  • Proven practical experience of high-tech assembly or test, preferably within a regulated environment such as medical, pharmaceutical, or aerospace
  • Ability to maintain accurate records in line with cGMP requirements
  • A careful, methodical approach to assembly, lab, and tool use
  • A positive, can-do attitude with flexibility to support a variety of tasks within the operations team

Salary & working hours

  • Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday: Basic daytime hours
