The Role:
Point Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Machine Minder for a well-established food production business in Cambridgeshire. You will operate and monitor production machinery, helping the team meet daily targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
As a Machine Minder, you will complete start-up checks, monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments where trained and authorised. You will also record production activity accurately and report faults or quality concerns promptly.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor production machinery to meet quality and output requirements
- Complete machine start-up checks, basic set-ups and required paperwork
- Report faults, stoppages and quality concerns to the Area Leader
- Make basic machine adjustments where trained and authorised
- Identify and segregate rejected products in line with site procedures
- Complete machine and production records accurately and on time
- Keep work areas clean and follow food safety and health and safety procedures
- Suggest ways to improve machine performance and reduce downtime
- Support the production line when required
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience as a Machine Minder or Machine Operator in an FMCG environment is essential
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices
- Mechanically minded, with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Fresh produce experience and knowledge of continuous improvement or Lean tools would be an advantage
- Right to work in the UK
Hourly Rate & Working Hours:
- £13.71 per hour
- Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:00
- Alternate Saturdays, 07:00–12:00
