The Role: Bench Joiner / Carpenter

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bench Joiner / Carpenter to join a well-established, specialist joinery workshop producing high-quality, bespoke joinery. As a Bench Joiner / Carpenter, you’ll be involved in end-to-end manufacture of custom joinery pieces, working on varied and interesting projects where craftsmanship and attention to detail are genuinely valued.

Based in a modern workshop environment in St Ives, this permanent Bench Joiner / Carpenter role offers stability, consistent hours, and the chance to work as part of a skilled and supportive team. Main Responsibilities: Bench Joiner / Carpenter

  • Manufacture bespoke joinery items from start to finish within a workshop environment
  • Cut, machine, prepare, and assemble timber to precise specifications
  • Read and accurately interpret technical and workshop drawings
  • Apply traditional and modern joinery techniques to achieve high-quality finishes
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting agreed deadlines
  • Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail throughout production
  • Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and workshop best practice

Skills/Experience: Bench Joiner / Carpenter

  • Proven experience as a Bench Joiner / Carpenter within bespoke joinery manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and modern joinery methods
  • Confident using hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary & Working Hours: Bench Joiner / Carpenter

Salary: Up to £37,750 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: St Ives
