The role

We are recruiting an Assembly Technician on behalf of a growing manufacturing business. This is a varied and hands-on role sitting within a busy production environment, offering real breadth of responsibility across build, calibration, testing, quality inspection, and product development.

You will play a central role in ensuring that assemblies and finished products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance before they progress through production. In addition to your core technical duties, you will contribute to process improvements, support training activities, and occasionally travel to customer sites, making this an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual who enjoys variety and takes pride in the quality of their work.


Main responsibilities

  • Build and test assemblies, performing equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks in line with safety, quality, and efficiency standards
  • Run tests on all assemblies and equipment to verify safety and performance prior to progression in production
  • Inspect and test finished products to ensure they conform to specifications and quality standards
  • Identify problems, propose solutions, and troubleshoot mechanical, safety, or efficiency issues — documenting all findings accurately
  • Contribute to software development to support the product and address production inefficiencies
  • Support the documentation of standard work practices across multiple product ranges, working closely with the quality team
  • Deliver training to both internal and external stakeholders within your area of expertise
  • Carry out occasional field work, including visits to customer sites or collection of goods for production
  • Write up clear and accurate reports on testing, inspections, and findings
  • Follow all safety regulations at all times

Skills/experience

  • Practical experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or calibration environment
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to inspect, analyse, and troubleshoot systems and equipment
  • Ability to run tests, interpret results, and make well-reasoned recommendations
  • Some experience or interest in software development to support production processes (desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Good written communication skills for reporting and documentation
  • Comfortable working across multiple product ranges and production roles
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel to customer sites
