Warehouse Team Leader

The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily warehouse operations to ensure the efficient goods in, material handling, storage, and dispatch of finished goods. The role involves leading a team of warehouse operatives, maintaining high standards of health and safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support warehouse staff in daily operations including picking, loading, recycling and
  • dispatching goods.
  • Manage the flow of materials to and from production.
  • Ensure all packaging, labelling, and documentation meet standards
  • Plan and allocate work to team members including drivers to meet operational requirements and deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety standards, quality standards and legal
  • requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels and support with stock control, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to enhance performance and engagement.
  • Liaise with production teams, customer service, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operation.
  • Report any equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety issues to Managers promptly.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role.
  • Good understanding of warehouse management systems and stock control processes.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Forklift licence (Counterbalance or Reach) desirable.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and manual handling regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including shifts or weekends if required.

Hours & Pay

Monday to Friday

0600 until 1400 / 1400 until 2200 on weekly rotation

£28,000 - £30,000 per annum
