Our client based in St Neots are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager on a full-time, permanent basis.
The company are a well-known, highly reputable business who operate at the top of their industry on a national scale.
The Warehouse Manager holds full accountability for the day to day running of the department to ensure that products are packed and shipped correctly and safely, on time, to customer specification. They will work closely with the other Production Managers to ensure the efficient flow of work through the facility as well as being responsible for all people management tasks and the continuous development of the processes and systems within the Warehouse department.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the setup, operation, and management of the Packing and Warehouse departments.
- Coordinate closely with Scheduling, Client Services, and Production teams to meet deadlines and customer specifications.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive shift handover and KPI reports on performance, efficiency, and stock utilization.
- Monitor and control stock levels, ensuring materials are available to meet workload demands.
- Supervise maintenance of machinery, departmental procedures, workflows, and housekeeping.
- Lead resource planning and job allocation to optimize efficiency and meet customer requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements, engaging stakeholders and driving efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with quality control systems, reporting issues, and implementing preventative actions.
- Manage budgets and departmental spend, ensuring cost-efficiency and compliance with authorization limits.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members, addressing skills gaps and driving cross-departmental training initiatives.
- Supervise health and safety compliance, working with HR and consultants to identify and implement improvements.
- Manage forklift operations, including servicing, maintenance, and training.
Skills/Experience
- In depth knowledge of packing, shipping, logistics and warehouse processes and experience in a managerial position within these areas
- Experience of working in a fast-paced production environment
- People management and workforce planning experience
- Experience of identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage a team, supporting team members and department managers
- Good organisation skills and the ability to thrive in pressurised environments
- Ability to multi-task and utilise resources to execute tasks within a deadline-oriented environment with tight timelines
- Highly motivated with a high level of initiative; inspires confidence to work independently and in support of department goals and business objectives.
- Strong computer skills, with a willingness to carry out administrative duties and more complex challenges.
- Proactive, can do attitude.
Salary & Working Hours
Up to £38,000 per year depending on experience
08:00 until 16:00, Monday to Friday
