Tooling Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented Tooling Design Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting new tooling projects, providing technical support for tool rooms and managing modification quotes. You will play a key part in ensuring robust and effective tool designs, collaborating closely with internal teams and international toolmakers to drive excellence in manufacturing.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure all duties are performed safely and efficiently in line with Health and Safety legislation

• Provide technical support to the Tool Room regarding tooling queries

• Develop general assemblies (GAs) from overseas sources to meet company standards

• Collaborate with international toolmakers to ensure robust tool designs

• Prepare and modify customer 3D models for tooling

• Support customer meetings and conference calls to develop product and tool files

• Attend internal and external meetings related to current and future work

• Participate in tool trials domestically and overseas, as required

• Advise internal and external Design Departments on optimum tooling requirements

• Perform mold flow analyses on new and existing components to improve processes

• Provide quotations for modifications based on customer files

• Manage external tooling work, ensuring all relevant information is communicated

• Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Engineering

Skills/Experience:

• Proven experience in tooling design and development

• Strong knowledge of CAD software and 3D modelling

• Excellent technical and problem-solving skills

• Experience liaising with international teams and suppliers

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Understanding of mold flow analysis and tooling processes

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break
