Senior Manufacturing Engineer

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll work closely with the Operations Manager to establish and develop a dedicated Manufacturing Engineering team. You’ll lead improvements to manufacturing processes, support daily production, and ensure that new products are designed for efficient manufacture. With strong visibility to senior management and the Board, your contribution will directly influence the company’s operational success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Optimise low-volume electromechanical manufacturing processes to improve quality, cost, and efficiency
  • Support daily production by troubleshooting build or quality issues
  • Lead functional testing and process setup for new product introduction (NPI)
  • Maintain process documentation, tooling, jigs, and fixtures; ensure equipment calibration
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and quality management systems
  • Lead investigations into non-conformances and implement corrective actions
  • Mentor junior engineers and support production teams in adopting process improvements
  • Contribute manufacturing input to new product launches

Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within low-volume, complex electromechanical manufacturing
  • Proven experience as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer or mentoring engineers/production staff
  • Skilled in 3D CAD for tooling and fixture design
  • Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of machining, sheet metal fabrication, PCB assembly, injection moulding, and testing
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, lean manufacturing principles, and root cause analysis
  • Hands-on, technically confident problem solver with strong attention to detail
