HR Advisor (Part-Time, 3 Days per Week)

Location: Alconbury, Cambridgeshire
Sector: Manufacturing / Operations
Hours: Part-time (3 days per week)

We are looking for a proactive and people-focused HR Advisor to join our team in Alconbury. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to make a real impact within a dynamic and growing manufacturing business.

You’ll partner closely with site management to provide effective, value-adding HR support — helping to drive engagement, develop talent, and ensure a positive workplace culture.


What You’ll Do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all HR-related matters.

  • Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to development and exit.

  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, disciplinary and grievance cases.

  • Deliver training and coaching to enhance management capability.

  • Support organisational development and change initiatives.

  • Manage HR data, reporting, and compliance activities.

  • Promote employee welfare and engagement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with HR colleagues across the wider business to align best practices.


About You

You’ll be a confident and adaptable HR professional who thrives in a hands-on role. You’ll be comfortable working across all levels of the organisation and bring a positive, solutions-focused approach.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in HR partnering or advisory roles.

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong IT and HR systems skills (Word, Excel, HR databases).

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Experience working with trade unions.
