The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established and well-respected manufacturing and engineering business. This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety, where you’ll be working with a wide range of machinery and equipment, carrying out breakdown repairs as well as planned maintenance tasks.
The position is based on the outskirts of St Neots and offered on a permanent, full-time basis. The company has built a strong reputation in its field for reliability, quality, and innovation. Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain site machinery including Machine Shop Mills, Lathes, Drills, and Sheet-Metal/Fabricating equipment (hand tools, polishers, heaters, etc.)
- Assemble and fit new equipment as required
- Carry out electrical work across the site
- Undertake plumbing and general site maintenance tasks
- Respond to and resolve breakdowns efficiently
- Uphold quality engineering standards both in the factory and on client sites
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, hygiene, and discipline
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role
- Strong mechanical skills with some electrical knowledge
- Ability to fault-find and carry out both reactive and planned maintenance
- Good understanding of health & safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Team player with strong problem-solving skills
- Flexible approach and willingness to work overtime when required
