Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

The Role:

In this role, you'll be pivotal in keeping complex production equipment running smoothly—tackling both mechanical and electrical tasks while supporting efficiency, safety, and minimal downtime.

This is a permanent position based at a well-established manufacturing site in Huntingdon. Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out both electrical and mechanical maintenance on a range of production equipment

  • Diagnose and resolve faults quickly to reduce downtime

  • Execute routine and preventative maintenance schedules

  • Support equipment upgrades, installations, and site improvement projects

  • Design, fabricate and install machine enhancements

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety procedures

  • Collaborate closely with production teams and external contractors

  • Contribute to a continuous improvement and risk prevention culture

Skills/Experience:

  • Time-served engineer or relevant engineering qualification (electrical or multi-skilled)

  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (packaging/printing advantageous)

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team

  • Proactive, adaptable, and safety-conscious

  • Flexible to support out-of-hours work when needed

Salary & Working Hours:

  • £45,000 – £49,000 per annum depending on experience

  • Monday to Friday, fixed day shifts.
