Our client, a well-established and highly reputable local business, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Logistics Coordinator to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will manage logistics providers to ensure correct billing for the services provided, lease with HQ and external warehouse to ensure accurate inventory levels and timely dispatch and delivery of goods in full. Also raising jobs in line with stock requirements, ordering materials and tooling, ensuring timely delivery to support Production and continually drive to exceed.

Responsibilities:

  • Booking transport and creating labels for goods to clients (Domestic and International).
  • Booking in materials and goods from 3rd party suppliers and any other items using CRM.
  • Ensuring picked orders are loaded correctly with the correct haulier with accompanying paperwork.
  • Working with supply chain on shortfall on PO, including late and missing Pos.
  • Raising necessary new jobs on the system and placing relevant POs with suppliers.
  • Keep an accurate record of up-to-date pricing from couriers: check and approve invoices from suppliers to make sure we are billed correctly.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with external suppliers to drive cost reduction.
  • Communicating with the sales team to ensure timely dispatch and material ordering.
  • Housekeeping on the system i.e. product/pallet weight and other data.
  • Assist the team with client issues as and when required.
  • Day to day transport queries -emails/orders/deliveries/quotes/delivery issues.
  • Update sales on stock holdings.
  • Follow Manager’s direction to optimise team and client satisfaction.
  • Resolve client complaints to the mutual satisfaction of both client and company.
  • Attend relevant training courses & develop knowledge, techniques and skills.
  • Adhere to policies & procedures relating to Health & Safety, Quality Management. 

Skills/Experience Required:

  • A great sense of humour and positive ‘can do’ approach, even to routine tasks, in keeping with our ‘mail happy’ slogan.
  • Highly motivated and able to work effectively under own initiative.
  • A background in transport/warehousing.
  • Comfortable communicating with others.
  • Good presenter/communicator: virtual meetings (zoom/teams)/ phone/ e-mail.
  • Pro-active work ethic.
  • Confident and able to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance.
  • Organised and efficient.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook/Excel/Teams/Word/Powerpoint
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management IT Systems

Working Hours & Salary:

08:00 until 16:00 or 09:00 until 17:00, Monday to Friday (Flexible)

£30,000 per annum
