Domestic Waste Technician
Location: Field Based – Peterborough (must have own vehicle)
Salary: Equivalent to £27,500 per annum
Contract: Initial 12-week contract
Hours: 40 hours per week – Flexible shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm
About the Role
Are you passionate about environmental responsibility and delivering excellent customer service? Do you enjoy working outdoors and being on the move? We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Waste Technician to support the safe and compliant discharge of domestic waste across multiple Water Recycling Centres.
You’ll be field-based, travelling across the region to ensure waste is managed efficiently, safely, and in line with environmental regulations. You’ll work closely with customers, tanker drivers, and site teams—playing a key role in protecting the water recycling network.
What You’ll Be Doing

Overseeing daily operations at domestic waste import sites

Carrying out site and equipment checks, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining high housekeeping standards

Promoting and upholding health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

Sampling and assessing waste for compliance, and reporting any irregularities

Providing professional, friendly support to customers and on-site teams
What We’re Looking For

Full UK driving licence (essential)

Based in or around the Peterborough area

Flexibility to work shifts covering core business hours

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Comfortable working outdoors and within operational environments
