We're recruiting two Cost Administrators on behalf of a major utilities organisation, with positions available in both Peterborough and Lincoln. These are full-time temporary contracts of 12 weeks each, with the potential for permanent conversion for the right candidates. A degree of flexibility around part-time hours may also be considered.
You'll be joining a newly formed Central Services team, playing a key role in the financial and commercial management of projects and contracts across a broad and varied portfolio. From processing SAP requisitions and managing invoices through to supporting cost reporting and audit compliance, this is a hands-on, detail-driven role that sits at the heart of a growing, ambitious team. If you're experienced in purchase-to-pay processes, highly organised and comfortable working with high volumes of financial data under pressure, this is a strong opportunity — with genuine potential to become permanent.
Main Responsibilities:
- Creating and processing SAP requisitions and managing the end-to-end invoice process
- Ensuring timely supplier payments and verifying that work completed aligns with framework pricing and contractual terms
- Assisting the Cost Manager and Cost Analyst with cash flow monitoring, financial tracking and reporting
- Maintaining accurate records to support audits and cost assurance processes
- Supporting Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes including PR, PO, GRN and AP transactions
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and internal financial controls
- Promoting health and safety standards, participating in audits and reporting near misses
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team
Skills/Experience:
- Strong prioritisation and decision-making skills with the ability to process high volumes of cost data daily to meet deadlines
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel — essential
- Familiarity with SAP, M2i and Power BI — essential
- Good working knowledge of P2P transactional processes (PR, PO, GRN, AP)
- Able to maintain effective financial control systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
- Well-organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Competent in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to accuracy and high standards
Hourly Rate & Working Hours:
£14.00 – £17.50 per hour, dependent on experience. Full-time, with some flexibility for part-time considered. Two 12-week temporary contracts available — one based at Thorpewood House, Peterborough, and one at Enterprise House, Lincoln. Potential for permanent conversion.
