The Role: CNC Turner Supervisor
Are you an experienced CNC Turner Supervisor or a skilled machinist looking to step up into leadership? This is an excellent opportunity to oversee a small team within a precision engineering environment while still remaining hands-on in the manufacture of high-quality components. You’ll take responsibility for delegating work, supporting colleagues, and ensuring production deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
This permanent role is based in St Neots with a forward-thinking precision engineering company that has built a strong reputation for technical expertise and innovation. As a CNC Turner Supervisor, you’ll be working with modern CNC machinery in a supportive, collaborative culture where quality and performance are at the forefront.
Main Responsibilities (CNC Turner Supervisor):
• Supervise and support a small team within the turning department
• Delegate work effectively to meet deadlines and maintain high standards
• Set and operate CNC lathes with Haas / Fanuc and DMG MORI CELOS controls
• Machine precision components from raw materials to engineering specifications
• Work with chucking and barfed machines, including live tooling and Y-axis capability
• Carry out accurate measurements in line with inspection schedules
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management and Health & Safety procedures
Skills/Experience (CNC Turner Supervisor):
• Mechanical Engineering qualification (apprenticeship or equivalent)
• Skilled CNC Turner with precision engineering experience
• Proven supervisory or team-leading background
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Confident in the use of measurement equipment
• Knowledge of live tooling (advantageous)
• Programming experience (advantageous)
• High attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
Salary & Working Hours (CNC Turner Supervisor):
• Competitive salary plus premium overtime rates
• Monday – Thursday: 8.00am to 5.00pm
• Friday: 8.00am to 2.00pm
